Sanibelle Quilted! |
Sanibelle - drawn with Pigma Pen and pencil |
The Diva Challenge this week is to create a tangle submitted by one of the blog’s followers. The tangle selected is “Sanibelle” and was designed by Tricia Faraonce. This design is a natural to adapt to quilting.
This is the Diva challenge tangle I made this on a Zentangle® 3 ½” tile.
And again here is the tangle quilted out. I used Signature and Bottom Line threads on a Sew Batik fabric.
This is how I draw it:
I use teardrop shapes instead of the scallop followed by straight lines. I feel that I’m able to create a smoother line this way. Also it is easily adapted to a continuous line for quilting if you retrace some of your lines along the way. This is shown on the bottom left of my sketchbook page.
Oh Wow!, it is wonderful for quilting and the foliage is gorgeous in tile form too!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! These are just lovely! I like how you added an extra line in each "scallop" for extra dimension. The tile is beautiful and I love the quilted square.
ReplyDeletewow, beautiful tile and quilting. I never really learned to sew, I can replace a button, so I guess all is not lost. ;) Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteThat's great, I love it quilted! And I might try drawing it your way. It looks like I can get more flow that way - thanks!
ReplyDeleteWOW! That is gorgeous Elaine. I love the lines. I'm a quilter too and new to Zentangles and I could see the possibilities with quilt. I did my first tangle ever last week and really surprised myself.
ReplyDeleteoooohhhhhh. gorgeous
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! This is wonderful and I really appreciate your showing us how you draw Sanibelle, I've been working at it for several days and still can't quite get it right, but you do it so beautifully. Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteI always thought this one would quilt up well done the way you do it. I have doodled it that way as well. I get slightly different final shapes when I draw it different ways, but the continuous line version is perfect for quilting. Love the fabric and the thread also!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, and the quilting blows me away!
ReplyDeleteThe tile and the quilt are both lovely.
ReplyDeleteOh my, the quilted Sanibelle is stunning!
ReplyDeleteGreat quilting...thanks for the idea to use zentangle for a quilt pattern! Love your tiles too!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love how Sanibelle looks quilted!
ReplyDeleteThese are all great, I too am a teardrop Sanibelle gal. They are all amazing. Quilted piece is fab!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pieces...both the quilting and the tangle! I've quilted for years by hand, but would LOVE to learn how to quilt on the machine!
ReplyDeleteThis tile is outstanding beautiful. Very special!
ReplyDeleteHi Elaine, I am sharing links to your site with prospective quilting students. your work is beautiful. You were going to send me info about the totes you made a while back . . . Please?
ReplyDeleteElaine, thanks for showing. You got the best out of Sanibelle and quilting. It pops in a "feather"-y way.Love the combo of thread and fabric
